Excessive shrinkage/movement on a housing development lead to variable degrees of failure to the mastic sealant around the UPVC window units.
Work had to be planned to coincide with spells of fine weather during the wet and freezing conditions throughout Nov/Dec ’19 and Jan ’20.
The operation was not made any easier as the top row of windows, were only accessible from a cherry picker, which due to hire charges was required to be on site for as short a time as possible.
