Prior to the Main Contractor breaking out an 800mm thick heavily reinforced concrete slab a trench had to be a saw cut/drilled and burst to form a ‘break’ to prevent vibration passing through the slab and into the adjacent building. A 1.80m blade was used to cut to the full 800mm depth. The saw cutting, diamond drilling and bursting operation was vibration free itself.
